An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.

I have tried to run it as administrator or use older versions, but saw the same error all the time.

Remember that for any setup failed using the Windows Installer, the first and usually the most efficient solution is to use Microsoft Windows Installer Clean Up to uninstall the failed setup program, and then install it again - that's all!!!!
